The San Francisco Marina Yacht Harbor is a favorite destination of boaters from around the world. Vessels have been berthing in the original West Harbor section of the Marina for over 100 years, with expansion in the 1960s increasing the facility to around 35 acres. The San Francisco Marina is located 1 ½ miles from the Golden Gate Bridge on the northern San Francisco waterfront and has 671 boat slips and room for up to 10 guest vessels of 100 feet or less. The facility also offers pump out stations at no cost and commercial fuel services. Marina Green, a park located within the Marina facility, hosts many popular events and offers workout stations around the periphery of the park. St. Francis Yacht Club and Golden Gate Yacht Club are also located within the San Francisco Marina and are sponsors to numerous boat racing competitions, attracting many world class boating enthusiasts.
