The original College Park area was plotted in 1872, first developed in 1889, and incorporated in 1945. As residents began to leave the crowded Washington, D.C., this stunning city began to rapidly develop. This was because the Maryland Agricultural College (which is now the University of Maryland) continued to expand its faculty and staff.

An important city for conducting and storing research, College Park is also home to the National Archives at College Park and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Center for Weather and Climate Prediction. Today, it is a popular city to stay and play, offering a range of hotels, attractions, and local events.

Whether you are a foodie, a lover of science, or an outdoor enthusiast, there is something for everyone and every age group. The perfect place for couples, groups, families, and business travelers, College Park has it all — and then some.
