While not as high-tech as many of its Silicon Valley neighbors, Campbell served as the original home of eBay and boasts the sprawling, open-air Pruneyard Shopping Center. Campbell was originally founded by Benjamin Campbell, who came to California in 1846 and purchased land for hay and grain cultivation. That land would later become the city's historic downtown core. The city was officially incorporated in 1952 and has grown rapidly since then, becoming the suburban residential area of the Santa Clara Valley that it is today.
Despite Campbell being a mostly suburban area, the city does feature a few large shopping centers and a historic downtown that boasts restaurants, bars, and shops. Whatever your reasons for visiting Campbell, it's important to find the right hotel that allows you to enjoy everything this wonderful community has to offer.
