The Chippewa Falls center is about 6 miles northeast of Chippewa Valley Regional Airport and 9 miles northeast of Chippewa Valley Museum.
Every season has something to do in Chippewa Falls. In the spring, enjoy some of the mildest temperatures of the year and visit the downtown farmer's market. For summer activities, you will want to get outdoors and try some of the local parks; Phoenix Park and Irvine Park come to mind. You could also hire a fishing charter in the summer.
Fall is a good time to experience the old, beautiful historic mansions and historical markers. In the winter, there is also plenty to do. You could hop on some skis and try out one of the local cross-country ski trails. Chippewa Falls experiences a four seasons climate, with winters that may be colder than what you're used to in other parts of the country. A bit further out in Rice Lake is the Microtel Inn & Suites By Wyndham Rice Lake. This is a smaller hotel with cozy rooms & suites available. It's near Turtleback Golf Course. The center accepts reservations for weddings and other group events, and it's something to consider if you are looking for good outdoor space and affordable rates.
Country Inn & Suites offers a lot of amenities for its price. It's near the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire as well as the Schlegelmilch-McDaniel House. You can go shopping on the hotel premises or enjoy its spa tub. For those who want a convenient, short stay, this hotel offers express check-in and check-out. Guests are happy with its hot breakfast buffet that offers more than just the basics.
Cobblestone Inn is a cozy option with a fireplace in the lobby. They also offer free newspapers and free breakfast. The hotel is also flexible with groups and those traveling with pets. The Chippewa Falls Museum of Technology and Industry is an affordable option, and the Chippewa County Historical Society has some interesting artifacts from the area. As far as history goes, the Chip Rutledge mansion boasts some interesting and well-preserved Victorian architecture and furnishings. There are also historical markers scattered throughout the county, where you can learn a bit about local history; the Chippewa Woolen Mill Historical Marker and the Chippewa Valley Electric Railway Co. Historical Marker are two to visit.
For entertainment that appeals to the young at heart, you could head to the Chippewa Area Ice Arena. The Chippewa River Distillery is a favorite place to relax and have a few beers. Jacob Leinenkugel Brewing Company is another option to try. There are many brewery and winery tours available in the area. These are just a few of the favorite local attractions, but any group should be able to find unique and interesting things to do.
