Head to the public boardwalk and pier for great views of Chesapeake Bay, or go to the public beach at Bay Front Park to look for fossils, get some sun, or go swimming. Breezy Point Marina and Rod 'N' Reel Marina have active fleets of charter fishing boats.
The Chesapeake Beach Railway Depot, which served the city from 1898 to 1935, became the Chesapeake Beach Railway Museum in 1979. The popular historic museum uses exhibits, artifacts, photographs, audiovisual presentations, and the Delores Parlor Car to show the history of the area. It's listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
A few blocks from the Railway Museum, you'll find the Chesapeake Beach Rail Trail, a 1.4-mile boardwalk trail that follows a small part of the original Chesapeake Beach Railway route that connected Chesapeake Beach and Washington, D.C. The trail starts at the Chesapeake Beach Water Park downtown and offers views of marshland and forested land as you head west. You'll cross Fishing Creek to its southern shore and cross the creek again to end the trail. Look for bald eagles and other birds in this area.
Chesapeake Bay Water Park is a family-friendly place with pools, waterslides, a lazy river, and waterfalls, as well as features such as palm trees to set the Backyard Bahamas mood. The park is open from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Food and beverages are sold at the park, which also has a gift shop. Guests can rent private cabanas for shielding from the hot sun and to guarantee a place to sit. Visitors say the park is crowded but fun. They recommend searching for discounted tickets online, as admission is somewhat pricey, especially if the whole family goes.
Adjacent to the water park is the Northeast Community Center, run by Calvert County Parks and Recreation. It features a gym for casual basketball games and dances, a game room with air hockey and a pool table, and meeting rooms with water views.

I love Chesapeake Beach it is a beautiful place on the beach, dogs run the beach and festivals are always fun to attend there.
I visited the Railroad Museum, and there were so many great exhibits and artifacts. The city is very clean and quiet. I enjoyed going to Breezy Point Beach and North Beach. The grocery store and CVS was very close to the resort.
Love the Chesapeake Beach boardwalk and koi pond park!

The mix of old and new houses and other structures (Rod and Reel Hotel) make the city intriguing. The fact that it's on the bay adds a scenic beauty that has an unrelenting pull on one's visual and hearing senses. God has truly graced this place with an astounding level of grace and beauty. The library is an added treat.
