Whitby Ontario Accommodations

Best Time to Visit Whitby, Ontario

If you want to get the most from your Whitby vacation, visit during spring or fall. The spring season runs from late March through early May. You might want to shoot for the latter if you want to avoid the occasional downpour. By then, the snow has melted and the daytime temperatures have warmed up enough to enjoy the water if you feel like boating or fishing. It's still too cool to take a swim, so plan a morning or afternoon hike instead.

The autumn season will bring colder temperatures, but you'll get to witness the glorious fall color. Low hotel prices and fewer crowds will make your trip more enjoyable. Plus, you can dine on the beautiful patios at local restaurants and take long walks in the area's nature conservation lands. Bring lots of light layers so you're prepared for chilly nights and comfortable days.

Summer and winter present two extremes in Whitby. Hotel prices spike between June and August, and the elevated tourist population can make getting around venues less enjoyable. In winter, you'll face snow and ice, though you'll pay much lower hotel rates. If you choose this season, bring a heavy jacket, gloves, scarves, and boots so you can stay comfortable.
