After a long day of exploring Manchester, you might get a bit famished. That's when you should head over to Shady Glen. Started in 1948, this diner is a Manchester institution. It features '50s-style diner seating, complete with a counter, and serves up some of the best homemade ice cream and burgers you've ever tasted. If you order only one thing, make sure it's the Bernice Original. This 4-ounce burger with four slices of cheese may not seem like anything unusual, but the locals swear that the cheese is unlike any other in the country. Pack a pair of sweatpants for comfort after the inevitable food coma.

Hotel is near Evergreen Walk which has many boutique stores. There is also a movie theater, a mall and many restaurants quite close.
The Buckland Mall was within walking distance along with restaurants. Great area with so many stores.
