Although some people may claim that the Crowne Plaza Tysons Corner-McLean has small rooms, you'll appreciate the hotel's indoor pool, terrace, garden, and location. The hotel is less than 3 miles from Tysons Corner Center and Wolf Trap National Park for the Performing Arts, as well as plenty of restaurants and small stores.
The Crowne Plaza is a great hotel for business travelers and vacationers. It has a business center, 5,000-square-foot conference center, and two meeting rooms. The hotel also offers two restaurants, fee Wi-Fi, a free local shuttle, and a fitness center.
Pets are welcome at Crowne Plaza Tysons Corner-McLean, but you can expect to pay a surcharge up to $75 per pet, per stay.
The Westin Tysons Corner

The Westin Tysons Corner in Falls Church is another hotel with a wonderful location near some of the town's most popular destinations. This hotel's attention to detail makes it such a great value over other hotels. In addition, the multilingual staff is happy to accommodate every need, even if they need to find you a limo for a night out on the town.
The 405-room hotel provides free Wi-Fi, concierge services, an indoor pool, and a health club. The two on-site restaurants get positive reviews, but you will have to pay a small surcharge for breakfast.
Pet areas are allowed, but you may need to pay a surcharge.
During the workweek, Tysons Corner's population swells from 20,000 to more than 100,000 people. Many of those people commute to work in the morning and evening, which creates a lot of congestion. Stay away from I-66 and I-495 during rush hour; you could find yourself sitting in traffic for extended periods of time.
Regional planners recognize that this problem will only worsen as more people come to Tysons Corner. In response, these planners have built a strong public transportation system that they can take to many of the area's popular destinations.
Silver Line Metro (D.C.)
If you want to visit Washington, D.C., and other metropolitan areas east of Tysons Corner, the Silver Line train is your best bet. This route could shave an hour or more off of your journey. Plus, you won't have to tolerate so much traffic. The Transit Authority plans to extend the Silver Line to Washington Dulles International Airport, but this extension won't be ready until about 2020.
Metrobus
If you don't want to spend much time on your feet while visiting Tysons Corner, you can rely on the city's Metrobus service. Metrobus has stops throughout the downtown and surrounding areas. Check the bus schedule online for the latest locations and times.
Driving
If you must drive, try to do so during low-traffic periods. Under normal conditions, the drive from Tysons Corner to Washington, D.C., only takes about 20 minutes at 2 p.m. After 4 p.m., the drive can take about one hour or more.

One of the reasons we selected this hotel is because it is walking distance from a new subway stop. However, the new subway line did not open as originally planned, so that feature was unavailable to us. The subway stop opened a week after our event.
