Conestoga College is a leading Canadian Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning.
The Conestoga College Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning is a public college based in Kitchener, Ontario in Canada.
The College was founded in 1967 as the Conestoga College of Applied Arts and Technology, one of many such institutions established in that time by the Ontario government to grant diplomas and certificates in career-related, skills-oriented programs. It was renamed in 2002 when the government extended the school's reach, namely to grant degrees in technology-based fields.
Over the years, it has added additional programs such as the Master of Business Administration program, in cooperation with the University of Windsor. In addition, the College offers a new nursing curriculum leading to a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (B.Sc.N.) degree. Students accepted to Conestoga’s Nursing Program will take all four years of study at the Doon Campus in Kitchener. Graduates of the program will receive a degree from McMaster University.
Beginning in August 2003 two new programs began which would be the first to award a degree to students entirely through the college. The two programs are the B.A.Tech Integrated Advanced Manufacturing Technologies program and the B.A.Tech Architecture - Project and Facility Management. Both programs award graduates a Bachelor of Applied Technology degree. Beginning of 2005 a new Bachelor of Applied Health Sciences Degree in Health Informatics was started in the School of Health Sciences, Community Services and Biotechnology.
In 2006, the college purchased the former University Heights Secondary School in Waterloo for nearly $6,000,000, into which its Waterloo campus relocated later that year. The property is significantly larger than its former Waterloo campus, which the college will sell to cover the cost of the purchase.
Conestoga has a one, two, three or four-year programs; as well as apprenticeship training programs. There are also many options available to students including four-year degrees in Advanced Manufacturing, Teletronics (Telecommunications and Computer Studies), Architecture, Health Informatics or the brand new International Business Management degree which started in the fall of 2006. Conestoga also has several agreements with some Ontario universities like Wilfrid Laurier, Windsor and McMaster, with many more in the works, as well as several other Canadian and international institutions.
Doon Campus is the main campus for Conestoga College. It is located at the south end of Kitchener and houses the central administration offices as well as the majority of courses offered by the college. Regional Campuses have select programs. http://www.conestogac.on.ca

Liquor Control Board of Ontario (LCBO)
615 SCOTTSDALE DRIVE GUELPH ON
~9.77 miles from Cambridge city center
Hotels Close to Liquor Control Board of Ontario (LCBO)
LCBO stores are generally the only stores allowed to sell hard liquor in Ontario.
The Liquor Control Board of Ontario (LCBO) is a provincial Crown corporation in Ontario, Canada established in 1927 by Lieutenant Governor William Donald Ross, on the advice of his Premier, Howard Ferguson, to sell liquor, wine, and beer through a chain of retail stores. Such sales had been banned outright in 1916; thus, the creation of the LCBO marked an easing of the province's temperance regime (see Prohibition in Canada).
LCBO stores are generally the only stores allowed to sell hard liquor in Ontario. Currently, the LCBO is one of the world's largest single purchasers of beverage alcohol products. Beer is also sold by the (Molson Coors, InBev and Sapporo Brewery owned) Brewers Retail Inc., which goes by the name The Beer Store. Wine can also be found in a number of stores operated by wineries and licensed to sell their own brands, however the LCBO is by far the largest wine retailer in the province.
Licensed bars and restaurants may resell alcoholic beverages, but they must be consumed on the establishment's premises. The bars and restaurants themselves must buy their products from the LCBO, The Beer Store, or directly from Ontario wineries and breweries.

The University of Waterloo is a comprehensive public university in the city of Waterloo, Ontario, Canada. The school was founded in 1957 by Drs. Gerry Hagey and Ira G. Needles, and has since grown to an institution of more than 30,000 students, faculty, and staff. The school is notable for being the first university in North America to create a Faculty of Mathematics, and for having the largest co-operative education program in the world.[citation needed] Waterloo maintains one of the lowest endowments of all large Canadian universities, something officials have been trying to improve over the last 10 years.

The school is also known for having more company spin-offs than any other Canadian university, and as such, the university has been called the "Silicon Valley of the North". As of Fall 2009, there were 24,891 undergraduate and 3,497 graduate students, with 1,030 full-time faculty members and 2,190 staff. The school has approximately 140,000 alumni in 141 countries. Fergus
Fergus ON
~22.19 miles from Cambridge city center
Hotels Close to Fergus
Fergus is the largest community in Centre Wellington, a township within Wellington County in Ontario, Canada. It lies on the Grand River about 25 km north of Guelph.
The first settlers to this area were freed slaves who formed what was known as the Pierpoint Settlement, named after their leader, Richard Pierpoint. Along with a half dozen other men, Pierpoint was granted land in Garafraxa Township somewhere around what is now Scotland Street in Fergus.
In 1833, just a quarter mile from the Pierpoint settlement, Little Falls was established by Adam Fergusson. Along with fellow Scot James Webster, he purchased 7000 acres (28 km²) of uncleared land in Nichol Township and laid out the town of Fergus. Webster took up residence here and supervised the settlement's early development.
The first house of this predominantly Scottish community was erected in 1833. A hotel was built in 1834 and a sawmill, grist mill, church and school followed in 1835.
They soon established a vibrant economy, using the waterfalls on the Grand River as power for local industry. The Scots built solid stone houses, factories and other buildings which have characterized Fergus to this day. Many of the houses and factories built by these early settlers are still in use today -- occasionally occupied by descendents of the original owners.
Originally Fergus was known as Little Falls, because of the scenic (water) falls downtown, between the Public Library and the Fergus Market. Other names that (parts of) Fergus have been known as include Nichol Township, Aboyne, Garafraxa Township and Pierpoint Settlement.
