We stayed here at the end of April 2013 while attending an event at the America's Center/Edward Jones Dome. The place was clean, the staff was friendly, and the rooms were generous/large. As a Historic hotel, it was missing some of the amenities of more modern hotels. There was no breakfast/food/bar in the hotel, the elevators were somewhat slow, etc. In all, our experience was positive and we would stay here again. It was convenient to Metrolink and the venue we were going to.
Several in our group had larger rooms that included two double beds in a separate room from a seating area which included a pull out couch. The rooms were large and easily slept 4 people.
It's certainly not 'luxury' in anyway if you are looking for somewhere fancy to stay. However, it's a clean hotel, with nice staff, located conveniently in St Louis. « less

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. The first night we had major noise issues with the guests in the room next door. When we tried to call the front desk, 1 phone in the room was not plugged in and the other one just received a busy signal. I had to use my cell phone to call the hotel! We called twice, and no one came upstairs either time to check on the noise. Long story short, we had a horrible nights sleep and the hotel staff showed no regard. Also, this hotel has NO parking. We were required to walk 4 blocks to a parking garage that costs $16/night. « less

I stayed one night for the Cardinals game on Saturday April 13, 2013. The room was not quite ready around 10am which was fine. Went to the Cards game then went for dinner. checked in around 4pm. Went to my room. VERY DIRTY!!!! The walls were filthy the tv stand was right against the bed area. You could not move it. The walls were very thin the people next door were having hard core sex. They were banging against the walls like for 2 hours. The TV was not working so I tried to sleep with all the noise. Left right away the next morning and got out of there. The best thing was FREE parking on the street. Its great walking distance to Busch Stadium and other venues of the city. « less

Stayed at this hotel in April and was not impressed with it. Had to change rooms three times because our bed sheets were not clean. There was dried blood on the bathroom floor. We were told there were vending machines on certain floors and when we went to each floor there were none. Told us to go to hotel next door. Manager stated in previous review that microwaves were located in the vending areas. We never saw any and we went to all the locations. Alot of noice from outside the hotel, which made it hard to sleep. « less

Management response from Peter Arscott, General Manager
Dear Guest, Thank you for taking the time to comment on your recent visit to the Mayfair. We value feedback from all our guests, and strive always to improve the guest experience. We do recall your visit with us, and had already noted your experiences through the comment card you had filled out. We have since taken steps to insure that the experiences you had would not be occuring in the future. Unfortunately, many times managers do not receive comment cards until guest stays are completed and they have departed. Additionally, booking through on-line agencies many times does not give us contact information for us to follow up. For this reason we recommend that any issues you encounter with a hotel be brought to the managers attention immediately so that we can insure your stay is comfortable. Otherwise, we do hope your visit to St.Louis was enjoyable, and that you come back to visit our great city soon. Sincerely, Peter Arscott General Manager

Testimonials: Why use Hotel Planner?
"This is the first time I used your service and I was very satisfied with the software program. It was very user friendly and had so many different options you could use. There was a great selection of hotels to choose from. I have finalized my booking with Liz of Bay Park Hotel and have stopped all other biddings. Thank you again. It made my job a lot easier in finding a place to stay for the group!" J.W. - Monterey, CA
"I was given lots of different offers, a very quick response time and VIP service on my wedding night. Thanks!" G.R. - Nashville, TN
