The residence was a heavenly - though very pricy - experience on all levels: friendly and most helpful staff, luxurious entrance hall, salons and bar; spacious and ultra-modern suites, stunning location on lake waterfront, very large pool offering breathtaking lake- and mountain view, state-of the art fitness and wellness facilities and and excellent and innovative cuisine. Personally however, at breakfast, we prefer a buffet formula that was not available in the hotel. The town with the departure point of the Rigi Bahn and a lakeboat stop is at walking distance. This was our second visit; some of the charm of 6 years ago (e.g. in the bar) was sacrificed for a ultra modern (and somewhat colder) makeover which we do not like so much. The table we booked for our last night dinner in the hotel was taken by other guests; apologies of the staff couldn't give our preferred table back! Dutch or Belgian newspapers were not available. To bring the temperature of the room at night to a comfortable level, we had to open the window, despite the available air conditioning (minimum level 18° C); this might have been a minor problem that can easily be solved. « less

Pros -great view over the lake and the the Alps. If you do not a have a room with a lake view, just enjoy it from the open heated swiming pool or the restaurant. The view would definately impress your girlfriend! -modern SPA with outdoor heated pool, saunas and an Ice room with -10'C. Amazing! -very modern and clean rooms - friendly staff
Cons -too modern equipment design: you wont find any shower or other switches - just sensor buttons -complimentary minibar has only two alcoholic drinks: swiss red wine and sweat pear liquor -too safisticated restaurant service might result in service delay when it is full of guests (we were the only dinner guests and had a great and promt service. Not sure if it stays the same when the place is full) -the food at dinner was beautiful but not tasty. -too long explanation of the room (15mins!) and a must to provide full passport data. The saunas were swiched off at the time of our stay. « less
