Monaghan is well known for good golf courses (Concra wood to name but one) and fine lakelands perfect for fishing and rural walks. Ideal for when business meet pleasure.

I have stayed here for a wedding. On first impression it is a bit dated but was nice drive up. We were disappointed with the room, small pokey two single beds when we booked a double and an old large TV. Furniture was quite dated and there was a musty smell.
The wedding room food and décor was in contrast quite open and new. Food was lovely. I am attending a wedding in May in the hotel but think I might book a B&B based on this experience.
I didnt get to use the leisure facilities due to having a move on quickly on Sunday. « less

we recently stayed here with our two year old son. the hotels location is great just on the outskirrs of the town just off the main road. the communal areas are nice and reasonably well kept. the pub and restaurant are dated and look a lil bit, well not grubby but jusr like they need a lick of paint. the leisure centre is grand nice pool and a kids play area supervised in the mornings. the rooms are where the hotel really falls down, basic basic basic. the room was clean except for the throws at the bottom of the bed they had nasty stains on them yuk. the rooms look like they had been decorated as cheaply as possible and are in serious need up updating. the bathroom was very nice though, it was large and clean only bad point was it had a shower and no bath which doesnt really suit with a small child, having said that the shower was huge and would be great if u had no kids. overall I wouldnt recommend this hotel unless you are getting a cheap deal, it simply wouldnt do if I had to pay full price. « less

We stayed in the hotel for 2 nights. It was OK but nothing special. Beware of the leisure centre. I used the pool and jacuzzi 3 times. The first two times were ok but the third time my shorts changed colour from blue to brown. I complained and the lady said that she would check the water. I was not able to get the results of the test but I later found out that this happens quite often as too much chlorine is put into the water. I have not had so much as an apology from the hotel. Environmental services confirmed the level of chlorine had been too high. « less

Management response from Majella Toner, Sales and Marketing Manager
Dear Roger 447,
We are sorry to have received your complaint through trip advisor. I have discussed this matter with the Leisure Club Manager who mentioned that he had apologised for the incident, rectified it and offered to reimburse both you and your partner for your swimwear, we have since issued this refund. The Leisure Club Manager got in contact with you after the incident to apologise and offer a refund on your swimwear and unfortunately you were unable to respond to him for a number of weeks.
We again thank you for bringing this to our attention.
Kind Regards,
Majella

Testimonials: Why use Hotel Planner?
"I wish I knew about you guys sooner, I've enjoyed being able to come home and go to the computer and see lots of hotels asking me to stay with them. (almost like that commercial, when the banks fight over getting your business) Will recommend to others and can't wait to use the service again myself." P.C. - Philadelphia, PA
"Everything went great! They even provided complimentary "goodie" bags :)- I'm glad I came across your site. It made things so much easier... Yes...I have referred someone to your site already and I trust we will use you again :) Thank you for your assistance :))" Y.C. - Tulsa, OK
