Terrible experience! 17 of us went for my daughters wedding, the service was terrible and unaccomadating. One of the guest is disabled and I was told they would hold a wheelchair for her ( the resort is all hills and not disable friendly) for three days no wheelchair. Then they said one was freed up but would have to put a deposit no problem they charged me $265.00 for a wheelchair that was never used stating that it came from a pharmacy. Then they took it back because they me never told me it would be a charge. My son took a picture of a room full of free wheelchairs that were free but never brought us one. After the wedding reception 7 out of ten of us got sick, the food was left out in the sun and never put on ice. My daughter the bride and her new husband were so sick puking that there wedding night was ruined the staff could care less and at checking out tired to blame on a bug. Room was dirty overall would never return even if trip was free. Sinks clogged up , grooms fathers friend had no plumbing under sink bathroom flooded when workers left they left door unlocked. They promised to come and get my disabled sister with golf cart she was stuck for 40minutes no one ever answered phone. I could go on and on! Wouldn't give me bag of ice for my sisters knees that were swollen from walking « less

Abusive policies and practices to the guests. Book another resort if you value your money. The property is under new ownership and it shows; under Wyndam this was a very classy place. Upper managment also seems to be in outer space; the manager and general manager were no where to be found my entire trip (One week).
The Bad- 1. There is only one vending machine on the property and it doesn't work. 2. No room service. 3. No in-room entertainment services. 4. Complimentary bottled water is non-existant. 5. I booked my room with priceline.com and was given no warning by the resort that an additional $30/day would be accrued to my room for bogus "Resort services". (Gotcha fees). The desk clerk blamed it on priceline.com ofcourse, no sense of accountability. 6. As a "non-inclusive" guest, I wasn't invited to any of these "Resort services". 7. Breakfast was $20 for cheap instant eggs and burnt coffee. Also, for some reason it gave me heartburn. 8. The hot water faucet knob in the bathroom was completely loose and unusable. 9. The shower curtain had mold. 10. The AC worked about 50% of the time.
The Good-
1. The resort has a beautiful pool with a pool table, ping-pong table, and some decent water falls (thanks to Wyndam). 2. The view of Sugar Bay is also spectacular (thanks to Wyndam again). 3. The regular employees are friendly and empathetic for the most part; the most professional people working here are the regular staff, even the maids were thorough. 4. The beach is decent. « less

I am not that picky of a person. But the site plays the place up to be super luxurious and its really not all that much. Maybe im just spoiled but we dropped some money to get that. We also paid for the All Inclusive package Beach view King room. They put us in a room with 2 twin beds instead, But kudos they changed that. Then gave us the wrong wrist band to where everywhere we went they were trying us to have us pay again. We made a reservation at Blue Currents and sat there for an hour before getting drinks and bread. Worst service EVER THERE and I am not one of those uptight serve me now type of people. I am however pregnant and putting off eating so much made me sick. We had the 6:00 reservation and we didnt finally eat and get out of there until 8! The food if you have to pay as you go is VERY over priced for food thats really not that great. And you can only eat when the places are serving, there are weird hours that you have to walk down the pool as your only option to eat. « less

I was holding my breath after reading some of the poor reviews, but in the end was extremly pleased with Sugar Bay! I read many reviews stating that the staff was unfriendly, and that the service was poor. I consider the complete oposite to be true!!! Everyone was extremly kind, friendly, and professional. And the service was outstanding in my opinion! We went with the all inclusive package (which I highly recomend), and we got our money's worth! I did see a few folks that seemed to be dis-pleased, but then again I dont think that "those" folks would have been pleased anywhere.......please and thank you and even a small tip once in a while goes a loooong way, and unfortunatly those words are not part of some peoples vocabulary. You reap what you sow! We used the words please and thank you, and tipped once in a while (total of like $10-15 a DAY), and we never once had to wait for a beverage, and had more towels than we needed, and were greated with a smile everywhere we went on the resort. The resort views were incredible, the pools were great, and the beach was wonderful. I would highly recomend Sugar Bay to anyone looking for a very affordable 3+ star all inclusive vacation with breathtaking views! We look forward to returning again! « less

Disappointing for the price. We did the all-inclusive. We paid for an ocean view room and got the tops of the other buildings with the ocean in the background. They did upgrade us the next day and that was great. The rooms were kind of run down, again for the price....The grounds were beautiful and the gym was nice. There was quite a wait for the shuttle and the staff (except the housekeeping staff) were put out in helping with bags, accomodations for getting around, getting taxis, arranging for trips, etc. The activities were limited, (we were there May 10-15). Couldn't get into the spa because they book people from the island and the wait was 3 days. The food in the restaurants was like eating at a Denny's except for the one fine dining restaurant which was excellent. We did enjoy our stay overall, just disappointed for the price. « less
