Recently stayed at Little Inn by the Sea and was delighted by the location..within walking distance to Commercial Blvd where you can shop, eat, drink and dance to live music. This cozy property is designed around the pristine swimming pool so all rooms have a view of it. Our room was upstairs and had the perfect view of the beach and those beautiful palm trees. Renee was great. We asked her for all kinds of things and she was very accommodating. Yes, the property looks a little worn on the outside, but don't let that fool you. The rooms are clean and mattresses comfortable and we had a frig in our room for our drinks. I love, love this place and the rates make it affordable to fly down from New York every now and then to enjoy that tropical breeze! We had a blast! I think I know where I'm staying when I come back to Florida's east coast! Between the view and Renee, our stay was perfect! Will recommend to everyone! Penny D... « less

We had the most wonderful time ever at this nostalgic, cozy little inn. The service was exceptional from a staff of warm, friendly people who were very customer-oriented. The rooms were clean and comfortable-there were no bugs anywhere, inside or outside. Each morning we enjoyed their continental breakfast which was more than adequate. This is a great place for families. The Inn may just be rated a 2-star but our experience overall was 5-star. « less

How disappointing. Place looks nothing like Internet. Rooms were old, peeling paint, linens/towels did not match. Tried to enjoy the balcony, but was afraid it was going to collapse. Giant roaches in the room. And pubic hairs all over the bed. Packed up after the roaches and pubic hair. Still asking to talk with management about a refund for the nights we didn't stay. This place should be closed down. Location was nice. Pretty beach. « less

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. However, I must comment back on several of your points of interest. Linens and towels are new and are paired in colored of cream and white- to match the curtains. The balconies in at Little Inn are regulated by the State of Florida and we are in compliance with Balcony laws and are not due for another inspection until 2015. So, I and the State both assure you that the balconies are safe. To imply they are not is rather slanderous. I will agree with you that we are in need of painting, as are most ocean front properties yearly- and we are awaiting permits from the City of Lauderdale by the Sea to be granted and colors to be chosen so we may begin painting this summer during our slower season. We hope that you will return to visit us after that. Again, thank you for your comments- it really helps to educate all that read them. A Little Inn

This was our 3rd stay at this property and sadly things have deteriorated. We booked for a one night stay after a cruise so arrived at the hotel very early. As expected, our room was not ready but we were able to check in and store our suitcases in a closet beside the reception. Check in was made complex by the fact my drivers license has my maiden name and my credit card has my married name. In our province of Quebec we are made to keep our maiden names on our drivers license and health card. This is the first hotel I have EVER checked into that required my drivers license. In the end she (I didn't get her name) took my husbands drivers license so when I tried to take mine back she got mad and said she needed that too. My husband commented that she was ruder than a clerk at the DMV.
On our past two visits we were in the newer section next door called a Litttle Inn Too. I say newer as both times our rooms had been renovated and were beautiful. This section is now not only closed but is also condemned and has birds flying in and out of openings in the roof. Our bathroom window looked over this section and I couldn't believe the state of disrepair that has closed this down since our visit 5 years ago. I asked the reception what happened but got a response that in no way answered the question.
Our room this time (203) was very standard and quite run down but was adequate and had a spectacular view of the ocean. There were a couple chairs outside and we enjoyed the view.
Breakfast was as expected. Coffee, cereal, OJ, yogurt, toast, and packaged muffins and bananas. There was no coffee available before 8 and no coffee makers in the room. Not ideal for us who rise much earlier. We only saw two other couples during our entire time at the hotel. It appeared deserted.
Unfortunately, the pool was unheated and although I tried to get in I could not convince myself too as it was just too cold. It was March and beautiful warm day so I would have enjoyed a swim. In fact I was able to get wet in the ocean but too rough to really swim that day as it was warmer than the pool.
A short walk north will lead you to a grocery store, pharmacy, dunkin donuts and a dollar tree. Walking south there is a vast choice of restaurants, bars and gift stores. The lovely thing about this location is you really do not need a car.
We love Lauderdale by the Sea and this is by far the cheapest beachfront hotel on the strip. I guess you just need to ask yourself if being oceanfront at this pricepoint is worth putting up with the rust, peeling paint, broken tiles that are present at this hotel.
I just wish the owners would look after both of these hotels as it is such an amazing location and there really is a certain charm to this place. « less

Thank you for taking the time out of your travels to write a review for A Little Inn. I would like to address some of your concerns that were noted. At A Little Inn we are very protective of our guest and we only allow paying guest to stay on property. Your ID is required at check in so we know who is staying with us, ALSO this ensure the person using the credit card is the authorized user of the card. (Standard policy of most every place I have been to personally.) The last visit you had with us when you stayed at A Little Inn Too is closed for renovations....it is NOT condemned. This building is not connected to the building you were staying in and in no way affected your stay at A Little Inn. We apologize for the view from your small back window in your room, however we are working on the building and a Licensed Contractor is responsible for the construction. Breakfast is served from 8am to 10am. Your room is equipped with a coffee pot for your personal use if you are in need of coffee before or after those times. The swimming pool is only solar heated, as are most pools in Florida since we rarely have cold days. It is maintained by a Licensed Pool Operator and is tested regularly by the State as per State Laws. We were just tested again this month of April and passed all required points. Again thank you for your comments, we welcome reviews so that we continue to educate all of our guest of changes and improvements made daily. A Little Inn.
