My wife and I have just returned from the Anantara Riverside. We had the most amazing visit that we have ever had in Bangkok. We would normaly stay in the Peninsula, but decided to have a change and we are so glad that we had. The reason that we chose this hotel is that we have stayed in Antara properties in the Maldives and like the way that they manage their hotels. Discreet, superb service and a quality property. The ladies in the club lounge area were so helpful and would do anything to make your visit memorable. We stayed for 5 nights in a Junior Premier Suite, the room is so good, much better than the photograph and description. Whilst there we actually booked again for October 2013 and decided to " push the boat out" and upgrade to the Anantara Premier Suite. The reason was that after being shown this Suite we were " blown" away. What makes this property outshine others is the staff, they genuinely want you to enjoy your stay and would help you in any way to accomplish this. I would like to thank all the staff of the Anantara Riverside, particularly the manager of Trader Vic's and the girls of the club lounge. « less

Stayed here for 3 nights at the start of our honeymoon. Excellent hotel with a good location, despite being a very short shuttle ride from the centre and hustle of Bangkok, it is peaceful and you can completely escape. Drinks are quite expensive but the service is incredible, all the staff are well trained and always smiling. The room was good, big and clean and we had a great view of the river. The breakfast buffet was huge and very fresh. Cannot knock this hotel at all and fully enjoyed our stay. « less

We stopped in Bangkok as part of our honeymoon package and spent 5 days in this hotel.
THE ROOM
The room was superb, we were on the west wing of the property and over looked the river. No problems whatsoever with mosquitos, water was supplied daily, bed was the most comfy thing I have ever slept on. I could have slept for the 5 days!! When you stay in some modern hotels in big cities they have a tendency to try and make everything small, NOT here. The room was spacious, immaculately clean.
THE FACILITIES/RESTAURANTS
The restaurants at the hotel are a little expensive but you are staying in a five star hotel and having both 5 star service and 5 star food. The BBQ together with the traditional dance was a great start to our stay with an array of dishes suitable for any pallet. All the ingredients are fresh and I can't speak highly enough about the taste.
Only until we got to breakfast the following morning....WOW a superb spread again featuring freshly cooked waffles to fresh fruit, cereal, hams and cheeses and my favourite what must be a small bakery!! Breakfast every morning from there on in!!! it never got boring.
We went to TRADER SAM's bar staff are superb it is a little quiet in the evenings but other than that it was excellent to sit and have happy hour and soak up some live music and relax before hitting that BED!!
We tried the hotel pool one day, NOT one of those freezing cold pools that you almost expect on holiday but a serene pool that offers some down time. We had food around the poo that they even serve to your sun bed!! Again slightly pricey but the taste was superb!!
Reception and everything else in the hotel was amazing...I cant speak highly enough
Gripes.
I could only wish that this hotel was situated a little further up the river, it was 40 ins from the airport and then if we did go out we used both the river boats and the taxis etc. It was just always a car or boat journey away. But if you want to stay away from he hustle and bustle of the city at night this is perfect.
Only one thing.....we booked things through our tour operator that were not updated but I give the blame to the tour operator, as a result hotel gave us complimentary limo transfer to the airport and a free meal in the hotel. IT WASNT EVEN THEIR FAULT!! Unbelievable. « less

My wife and me,we ve booked a deluxe premier riverfront room (768) which was given us surprisingly situated on top floor of the building (we asked via email before for a room of higher levels because we love to watch the river). Our stay was just for 2 nights having a rest going further to samui. From check inuntil check out the whole staff of hotel (door boys, restaurant, reception) was lovely helpful, always smiling and service was just promptly and simply perfect...The view of the room to river was breathtaking and the private balcony gives you the feeling overlooking bangkok as a king(better view as montien riverside-shangri la or ramada palace). The room was in perfect new condition, very clean, big modern style and the huge bath with rainshower given us a relaxed time after shopping during the day. All in all room was just amazing!Lobby and the whole area of the hotel is so lovely styled- little ponts and fountains and everywhere little corners with detailed decored surprises- the manager must be a man with an" eye for the special" decoration and loves his hotel surely...never seen such an huge breakfast buffet with so many different kind of bread,eggs,fruits,sushi,cheese,sausages...just amazing...there is just one point:the barbeque on riverside terrace is just cheeky too expensive, some food of the buffet where cold already , but maybe we just had unlucky day- choice of food was outstanding and we were full enough of olenty good food... All in all we can highly recommend this hotel- view breathtaking-service quick and perfect-breakfast huge amazing- we would love to come back again!!! « less

"We greatly appreciate your help. We had made arrangements with a hotel and then found out that it was located in a bad part of town. The trip is in three weeks and we felt doomed.
