With its rolling hills, dense forests and luscious meadows, the thermal spa region of Bad Waltersdorf is considered by many people to be the most beautiful part of Austria for good reason. Everything flows – but without the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
My favourite hike – RömerweinwegThis pleasant hike along a path dedicated to the Romans and leading around Bad Waltersdorf starts from the town’s information office. To “warm up”, first take a walk through the town towards the healing thermal spa, then head uphill over the fertile hills towards Wagerberg.
Amidst the vineyards, the Waldweg (or forest path) will lead you further in the direction of Wagerberg, where you can then enjoy the fantastic landscape of southeastern Styria. At Wagerbergberg, turn off to the left at the end of the town once you have passed the forest, and the path will lead you back downhill to Bad Waltersdorf.
