This is our second experience with Palmetto Shores, for the money you can't go wrong. We stayed two nights. Sunday, Monday, Tuesday. It's right on the beach you literally walk right out on the beach. Which is great when you have a toddler (naptime, potty breaks, etc...) Your just blocks from the pier, sky wheel, Broadway and the beach...restaraunts galore. It's clean, and it's close to everything. We'll definitely go back. « less

When I go on vacation I like to sleep in because due to work and school it seems like I never get enough sleep at home. I have stayed here a couple of times before and the noise was minimal. But this time housekeeping woke me up around 8-9am every morning with their loud walkie talkies in the hallway and slamming every door they walk through. Other than the early morning noise I have no complaints. Be sure to visit the patio cafe across the street! They have really good food!! :) « less

I made my reservations online about 2 months ahead of time, I chose the oceanfront 2Q efficiency room. I thought that was the room I was paying for, but when I got my confirmation email, it said only the oceanfront 2Q room. (Not efficiency) and the email didnt tell me what building I was in either. I ended up getting a room with no stove, a small little refrigerator, and no kitchen counters or sink. When really I selected the room with all those features and paid for those things. The carpet smelled like mildew or wet dog right by the beds. The shower was full of rust, our lamp on the wall didn't have a light bulb, the tv had a huge line going through the screen, there was paint droppings all over the carpet, and every time we went into the room, we had to hip check the door so it would open. We didn't go into the pool or hot tub because they both were so small. The hot tub fit like 3-4 people in it and was always full. The sands building (the one in the middle where I stayed) looked like it hasnt been worked on/updated in about 10 years. The elevator sounded like it was going to break down at any moment at all times. The door to the elevator opened before the elevator was even at the floor. Overall a very bad experience at this hotel. I go every year to visit family, and needless to say.. I won't ever be going back. I'd rather sleep in car the entire week. « less

My Family of 4, soon to be 5, stayed at the resort in a deluxe room with ocean front view. The room was in good shape, compared to the other hotels that I have visited in the past at Myrtle. Trust me there are some real dog hotels in Myrtle and the price does not make a difference in Myrtle. The view was exceptional with dolphins being seen more then once.
The weekends are busy and the staff kept us served and pleased the entire week trip. The hotel room contained all the necessities needed for a family of 4 including linens, housewares (plates, utensils, etc.). The dishwasher and washing machine made beach time and evening outs much easier.
The pools were great and was a welcome relief when the weather on the beach did not cooperate.
