I stayed at the Dan on business, part of a large group, and in the run up to our visit, Moji, part of the management (I think), was very helpful in providing me with lots of useful information about the hotel amenities.
The hotel is very smart, the public and bedroom areas are clean, modern and decorated to a high standard. The restaurant and bar offer good food, and lots of it. Breakfast offered one of the best ranges of food I've ever seen, but my experience of dinner as a vegetarian in a kosher restaurant: expect to eat a lot of rice and hummus - the vegetarian options appeared to be more side dishes.
The concierge service is very good - Ben who ran the concierge desk was the most friendly and helpful member of staff I came across, he was excellent in organising group trips and advising on taxis.
Amenities: wifi - at a cost. Taxis easy to get from just outside the hotel, ATM machine, small arcade of gift shops. Shuttle bus into the Old Town - used once to get into town, I couldn't comment on how easy it is to return to the hotel by it.
Mount Scopus is a bit of a distance from the Old Town, so without a bit of a walk through more residential areas, it's a taxi or bus trip into town. This is easy enough from the hotel, but be aware that by Friday lunchtime taxi prices are going up because of shabbat, regardless of the 4 hours to go before sundown.) If you don't like the haggling approach to everything (like me), you'll probably find yourself paying over the odds to get back to the hotel by taxi - but that's just my bit of traveller experience, not a comment on the hotel!

I had the pleasure of staying at the Dan Jerusalem for five nights. We were touring all day, so often by the time I arrived back at the hotel, I was tired and hungry. I have a gluten-sensitivity, so dining out can be a challenge. The seating hostesses, Ohala and Maya, were incredibly polite and helpful introducing me to the chefs. The chefs bent over backwards to help me know clearly what I could and couldn't eat. They also cooked me special dishes if I wanted something not out on the buffet and made me special desserts almost every night. They even remembered me the following days and greeted me with a smile and helpful attitude. The big smiles of the darling & friendly evening servers were just icing on the cake. :) Jerusalem was magical and the staff at the Dan Jerusalem made my stay even better. Can't wait to come back! (To the management: the evening dining room staff all deserve a raise!) P.S. Don't forget to have a drink on the balcony overlooking the city lights. Perfect!!! « less

We were on a group tour. Everything was arranged so cannot comment on its location nor its front desk. We were greeted by the owner and his wife and had a welcome drink. The room was clean, nicely decorated and comfortable, with all the amenities expected of a good class hotel. Even though ours didn't have a view, there was access to a terrace where I could take pictures of the city at sunrise! There was a gym and would have loved to use it but was told there was a charge and it wasn't cheap. Would have thought it could have been complimentary for hotel guests in such a nice hotel in this price range. The food was excellent with great variety. Its a big hotel and lots of groups come in so expect a crowd at meal times. Would go back there again. « less

I've been upgraded and loved the new executive rooms, the breakfast was great the waiters not so much, the rooms were clean and all renovated. The concierge wasn't everyday and if he was he wasn't on his desk always had to ask for him. What was outstanding is the service I got from the receptionists, when the concierge wasn't there, they always helped me with lot of patience to all my questions, that was a lot, Moji the manager was outstanding helped me with everything I need and recommended me the best way to spend my 3 days in Jerusalem, the other 2 employees that helped were also great.
I'll be back in Jerusalem next year and won't think twice were I'm gonna stay. « less

The food was consistently excellent and this was the only location that we got good fruit - watermelon and honeydew melon. They must have had a dessert chef because the choices were wonderful. Their bread was good and they cooked their beef until tender (most Israeli beef I had was tough). The restaurant wait staff was the most friendly and accommodating of any location we went. The room was comfortable and the bathroom was nice. Our room was nice and cool, but some people did not discover that the control was on the nightstand, not the wall. Their wifi was free on the 4th floor in a bar area with a nice view, so don't pay unless you strongly prefer to be in your room. « less
