This is an older hotel, but everything was pretty updated, and very clean. The staff was Fantastic, we had an elderly person with us and they made it so easy. They went out of their way to help us with anything we needed. It is at the end of the strip, but easy to get a cab to go anywhere you want. « less

We stayed there on a deal to check out a time share company. (NO WAY!) I was allowed to upgrage to some kind of suite with a king bed. It was quite roomy. They seem to have quite a few types of rooms in the different towers of the hotel. The price was fairly low for Vegas but watch out for the EXTRA FEES to use the pool ect. We never used ANY of what was included but still had to pay the 15 bucks A DAY and the pool wasn't even open!Housekeeping could use some retraining as we found a pair of mens underware in the closet. The counter had something sticky all over it and the shower door was a horror!!! I went back down to speak to the front desk about it and was assured it would be handled but alas, I finally just found someone myself. Upon check out, I was compted for one day.We were there for 5. It is WAY at the end of the strip where the older hotels are. Luckly we were meeting friends who always rent a large vehicle. It is easy to get a cab and there is some public transit for a fee. « less

We were there on business and wanted an affordable hotel that was close to the Convention Center. The Riviera fit both of those. With the free parking and a short walk over to the Convention Center it saved us time and money. The Riviera has 3 different room grades, so remember that when you read these reviews. We choose the middle grade and it was very good for the price. Our room was good sized, the beds were very comfortable and it was clean. The TV was small but good enough to watch the game on. However the room safe did not work for us and the Wifi faded in and out. The bathroom was big enough and the shower had plenty of power. The mirror had an anti-fog which was nice. The check-in staff was courteous. The hotel is older and somewhat dark and had that old time casino smell, not too bad, but we spent little time there so no big deal. Nothing fancy here but I would recommend this place for the reasons given. « less

I was a bit doubtful after reading the reviews, but got a very good deal so gave it a try. I'm pleased i did, had a great time . The staff were all friendly, in particular Nick in the main bar, gambling fair value and the drinks came strong and fast. Sure the place is a little old, the Victoria pub could do with a revamp and s new theme, but if you look past that this a great place, well situated to travel up and down the strip, and great value. Underrated, goes to show you sometimes have to look further than the review! « less

I am very glad to hear that you enjoyed your recent stay at The Riviera. I will be sure to pass along to the food and beverage manager so he can be sure to thank Nick on your behalf. In your review you wrote “the Victoria pub could do with a revamp” and it just so happens we are currently in the “revamp” process of the pub. The Pub will re open with updated drink, food, and facilities on May 23rd.

This was the first time we had stayed there. The location was okay. It is kind of at the end of the strip, right across from Circus Circus. We had a decent room and the room was always cleaned and ready for us when we came back from our day out and about. It was fairly easy to find our way around. The registration desk people were polite and efficient being we checked in in the wee small hours of the night and checked out at 3:30 a.m. The resort fee was not a nice surprise but you pay and remember that for next time.
We ate at a couple of places inside the venue and they were okay. The R Steak & Seafood restaurant was kind of expensive and every item was separately charged - (steak $33, Baked potato $7, other sides ranged from $7 to $12 so that was a little pricey.
We had breakfast at the buffet ($14 US). There was lots to choose from and the service was friendly and fast.
We also tried the Banana Leaf Restaurant right off of our elevators. This was more or less a Chinese food restaurant. I had sesame chicken which came with steamed rice. Very good and lots. I couldn't finish the plate. I think the only thing I couldn't find on the menu was a combination plate. That would have been more desirable than just the chicken and rice.

Thank you for taking the time to let The Riviera know about your recent stay. I noted in your review that you felt as though R Steaks and seafood was overpriced for what was offered. I can assure you that our prices are extremely competitive for fine dining on The Las Vegas strip. I suggest for guests looking for a fine dining experience at a value to try R Steaks happy hour menu 4:30p-7p daily served in the lounge. I was very glad to learn you enjoyed all of your interactions with team members as we take customer service very seriously and are proud of what we offer.
Thank you
