Back in August 2012 my lil 70+ yrs old Mom & I were staying at the Rivera Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas Nevada . I was in an electric wheelchair & my lil silver haired Mom was hobbling around in 103+ f. daytime heat on the strip looking for our accessible cab ... when Bell Captain Pepe' came running out of No Where took my Mom sat her in a chair with a view of the cab stand , gave her a drink of water & called dispatch for an ETA on our cab, and when it came he walked us out to the cab & helped with our bags ! And when Pepe' was away, Mark was just as nice to us ! And once we had run low on funds at the end of our trip they both were still just as sweet towards my Mom & Me ! These Two Guys Really Made our Trip ! ! ! Since they seemed to care about US, not just how much cash we had for them. Their Attitudes were warm And Genuine , & they made us feel like they really did care what happened to us & not just for our cash. « less

we just arrived home from Vegas on 16/5/13. I had had some concerns about the riviera before i travelled because of what i had read online from other holiday makers so i had contacted them on facebook to try to address my concerns before we left, i cant say whole heartily that i was totally satisfied with the replies i got on fb but none the less we set off looking forward to our very much needed holiday never dreaming what lay ahead.when we arrived to check into the riviera we asked for a non smoking room my husband recently had survived a very advanced stage 3 cancer so obviously we would never willingly do anything to tempt fate and aid its possible return and were told by the receptionist that we were booked into a standard room and they were all smoking rooms if we wanted a non smoking room we would have to pay extra and upgrade to a more expensive room. i explained about my husbands health and asked on a scale of 1 to 10 how bad the smoking rooms were her reply was that there was a darts convention booked into the hotel and that all the other people located close to them were either leaving or complaining about the smell of smoke. We werent offered any other option infact i felt the receptionist was quite dry and defensive when i asked her did she think that this was acceptable customer service for someone who recently had only just survived cancer she appeared indifferent. needless to say we paid the $224 extra to be put into ns room. in the 10 days we were there our sheets werent changed in the room to protect the environment and towels were changed infrequently even when left on the floor. to anyone planing to stay here the riviera care more about laundry bills that they do about your health so book with extreme caution they will wriggle out of any responsibility with feeble email replies about no guarantees and how they do there best to address these issues. heres a suggestion for you riviera you should charge people who want to smoke more not the other way round we arent staining bedclothes wallpaper curtains etc that need extra cleaning to remove stale smells, we also arent putting other peoples health at risk. the sad part about all of this is we had a great holiday in vegas but would we return to that hotel def not and i would say again to anyone travelling there with any serious or otherwise medical condition that could be exaserbated by second hand smoke dont stay here. i hasten to add this was our 3rd trip to vegas but the first time we ever encountered this problem we never had any problems with circus circus or the stratosphere. « less

We wanted to stay in a hotel on the strip but were also on a budget, The Riviera was perfect for this as the price was very reasonable and the hotel was great. Our twin share room was lovely and large with super comfortable beds. the room was constantly kept clean and we found all the staff friendly and helpful our entire stay with one kind lady even lending us her personal cell phone to call a hotel in LA where we thought we had lost something. Despite its location being at the far end of the strip we found it quiet easy to walk the strip everyday despite the summer heat. The interiors of the casino are a bit dated but we saw this as kind of a novelty because it was like stepping into the 80's every time we walked through the gaming floor. I would highly recommend if you want to stay on the strip comfortably on a budget « less

We stayed there on a deal to check out a time share company. (NO WAY!) I was allowed to upgrage to some kind of suite with a king bed. It was quite roomy. They seem to have quite a few types of rooms in the different towers of the hotel. The price was fairly low for Vegas but watch out for the EXTRA FEES to use the pool ect. We never used ANY of what was included but still had to pay the 15 bucks A DAY and the pool wasn't even open!Housekeeping could use some retraining as we found a pair of mens underware in the closet. The counter had something sticky all over it and the shower door was a horror!!! I went back down to speak to the front desk about it and was assured it would be handled but alas, I finally just found someone myself. Upon check out, I was compted for one day.We were there for 5. It is WAY at the end of the strip where the older hotels are. Luckly we were meeting friends who always rent a large vehicle. It is easy to get a cab and there is some public transit for a fee. « less
