All your basic needs with perfect locations and very reasonable price. The service was amazing and staff were very helpfull and friendly. They recommended some good restaurants and clubs in the area (not that we could stay up late enough to visit the clubs that one opened at 1am). One lady, Carmen (I think she might be the owner) helped us a lot with finding information about football tickets and other random little questions we had. Free wi-fi in the comfortable lounge area. Not a luxury hotel but it has everything you need. « less

Hotel is situated in excellent place in the city centre. Staff is good, but ony one lady speaks english. Breakfast is continental.
We've booked economy room. The main difference between ordinary and economy room is not air conditioner but place where WC is situated. In our room it was... at balcony. That's very inconvenient.
Parking is not far from the hotel (5 euro per night).
Although it is the cheapest hotel in Braga it is not best value for money. « less

The location is excellent but the hotel itself is getting a bit run down.
The Reception area is located on the first floor, up some steep stairs. The lift begins immediately you press the button and has no second safety door so be careful. You are issued with a key by Reception to use the lift to floors occupied by the hotel.
We booked directly with the hotel by email. They responded quickly and a room was waiting for us when we arrived. We had requested a room with a balcony and view of the Avenida. We were offered a refurbished room with a small balcony and view of Bom Jesus or an older, non-refurbished room with a view of Avenida Liberdade. We selected the older room with great view (see photos).
Room 303 was large enough but the fixtures and fittings were getting on in years. There was no bedside lamp but a switch dangled over the end of the bed to turn off the main light when you were in bed. There was no AC (not a problem in late October) and the pillows and blankets really need to be replaced.
The bathroom and dressing room area was enormous, as large as some of the rooms we had stayed in on this trip. The fixtures were pretty much original 1950’s but everything worked and the hot water was good.
There was WiFi available at a cost of Euro 3 per 24 hours and on the third floor the speed was very good. The pass word is available at Reception and is changed each day.
Breakfast is served in a room adjacent to Reception and is about what one would expect for a hotel in this price range. There were rolls, tostada, biscuits with jam and cream cheese plus tea or coffee.
While the hotel is getting a bit run down the view from the balcony overlooking Avenida Liberdade is very enjoyable. I would probably stay there again for the location alone « less

This is a wonderful, warm, family oriented pension, with 21 rooms, one minute from the Praca de Republica, the focal point in Braga. I have stayed here 3 times, and wouldn't consider staying anywhere else. The family who run in are friendly, helpful, and speak English. Some of the larger rooms are elegant, and the smaller ones are very comfortable. At a cost of only 30-60 Euros a night (including a good breakfast in a lovely dining room), it is one of the best bargains in Portugal.

Accueil sympa. « less
