I went to Puerto Rico for the first time last February. One of my best friends was having an all girls party there for a week. I decided at the last minute to go. Well it was peak time and hotels were very expensive so I ended up booking through Expedia. I am big on reading reviews and allowing other customers to help me in my selection of hotels. I have found that reviewers tell the truth. And if several people are saying a hotel is good/bad... Believe it! The reviews were awesome for this property. So I decided to try it. From the moment I walked it... I knew I was we're I wanted to be. The lobby was very modern and edgy like I like it to be... Lots of red, a big glass wall filled with exotics fish and just plain cool atmosphere. The front desk clerks were ok in friendliness... This is something I have found with a lot of Hilton... And definitely something they need to work on! I told the receptionist I was in Puerto Rico to meet up with friends that were staying between the Conrad and Hilton Carib, around the corner. I had paid for a large room and she upgraded me to a wonderful suite. I couldn't have asked for a better room. I was overlooking the Ocean and partial street. It was magnificent. I had the best room out of all the girls in the party, so my room became the go to room for the group. Puerto Rico is very expensive they try to get you for everything. They think because you are coming from the mainland that you have money to burn. So everything is up for negotiation with price and everything is for sale... Literally! Beware! The other girls left and went on a cruise and I stayed an extra day to enjoy the fab hotel and beach. Well a major storm came thru the night after they left and I ended up staying a few more days because I couldn't get out, all flights were full. There was nothing scarier than being on that tiny island in the middle of the ocean and a major storm. Everything went black and the phones and Internet were dead. This hotel had a backup generator that powered lights and water. So we were not completely in the dark. Even tho this happened the hotel staff handled things better than expected. Thank you for a wonderful and memorable stay. « less

What a disappointment. The brochure made it sound like a nice resort, however the employees made it more of a Motel 6. Being ignored and reprimanded in front of other guest by the male clerk is not an acceptable customer service practice. Oh wait...Omar thought his employee reaction was okay. I guess it is true. The management sets the tone and customer service level of the employees establishment . This hotel failed. I did have a pleasant interaction action however with Jean ( hope I got his name right) he did recommend the Vieja Ropa. And some of the other female desk personnel were great. Overall, if you need a place to stay in San Juan, look elsewhere. They have plentiful other hotels, besides the Hilton family of hotels « less

We had many issues. No one cared and was rude all the way around. The engineer was awesome and nice. But other than that... Stay elsewhere. They will also make up charges to add to your room and call you a liar when you say you didn't request them. Too many hotels in the area to put up with this mess of hotel! « less

My mom, sister and I stayed here last week and absolutely loved it! The resort was very clean and the staff was excellent! I loved getting up in the morning, walking to the corner for Starbuck then walking on the beach looking for sea glass. The room was great and I would highly recommend getting an ocean view - it was wonderful to sit on the balcony and watch the ocean.
My only complaint about the resort was the cost of food and drinks. It was over $5 for a bottle of water and almost $3 for a can of coke. Also, the drinks at the pool were pretty pricey. The cheapest drink was a pina colada and it was $8.50 - that over the course of a day got expensive for me, but I was on vacation, so who cared! ha! The pool service was great and I loved everyone on staff!
Another thing I didn't like was after dark, it got a little scary for 3 women. We had a bad taxi driver who tried to charge us $15 per person for a ride from Old San Juan to the hotel and then he took us past the hotel and wouldn't turn around. He said he got confused, but it was a little scary for us who was in an unfamiliar area after dark. We stayed close to resort for the remainder of the week and was always back before dark. « less

Big – resort needs upgrade but still hip – GREAT sushi bar near the casino on the second floor – the breakfast café is terrible, don’t go there ever, it’s like Denny’s but worse. We stayed in a room that had a great bed. The bathroom shower was a plexi glass cube, pretty cool but it leaked everywhere. The balcony was small and didn't offer much of a view. This would be a great place for a conference or someone who likes the big box hotels. However, the location was great - they have their own beach, a huge rock wall that when the waves are big creates an explosion of water - great show! The pools are HUGE - and there are 3 or 4 of them! They have a hot tub which is the only hot tub I think I ever saw in Puerto Rico. This would be a great place for family's with kids and young adults in their early 20's as well as a great place to have a business conference. « less

Testimonials: Why use Hotel Planner?
"Your system is very friendly to the customer and understandable from the very first page. Thank you again for your program and system." D.P. - Rockford, IL
"When people provide customer friendly service in today’s world, it should be applauded! So many businesses have taken almost and adversarial attitude towards the customer, in other words, they over compensate for a consumer not following through. As a business, it is my understanding, that the business should always follow through and do as they promise! Loyalty between consumers and businesses should remain alive, profit above service is a bad plan and will cost the business in the long run!" R.F. - Denver, CO
