where do i start. the door to the room is bowed, the light in the bathroom was dead upon arrival, there was dog poop in the parking lot, the markings on the heater are rubbed of and the filter is filthy, the poles bracing the beds on both beds stuck out far enough to be tripped on, and are open ended and sharp, the toilet did not flush properly and was prone to clogging, and they have 1 plunger, and maintenance was never there, and there is a swamp growing IN the parking lot. and the frogs are loud enough to be heard inside the room, and there are a set of train tracks 50 yards or less from the back side of the hotel. it came in the early morning. « less

I stopped at this motel based on it's one review. My daughter and I arrived shortly after midnight and was horrified and I had to stand out in the freezing cold and talk through a "teller" window to get a room because it was after lobby hours. The slot was just big enough to put my credit card through. We apparently got the last room of the night and upon opening the room I felt immediately unsafe. NO phone, no clock, the batteries were taped to the back of the remote. There was no deadbolt for the door. I set my cell phone for the fewest hours of sleep possibly needed to continue my travel. I slept on top of the covers because after seeing the conditions of the room I felt it was not wise to place my body in possible harms way. And to top it off a train came blaring through at 2 am.....ugh! Will never stay here again! Great price but I felt cheap and dirty. At least provide a phone for safety reasons what if I had no personal phone!! The two staff members I "met" were friendly, I will give them that. « less

This is a older, but well maintained economy hotel. I stayed here for a week recently, and found it to be everything I needed. Wireless Internet worked well, rooms were clean, the price was right and staff was friendly. If you're looking for a no frills, but well maintained hotel, I highly recommend Bowers Hill Inn. « less
