I've been staying here twice a year for six years and in the past few years it had really seemed to be declining. On my last check in I was informed that they were under new management. The changes were immediately noticeable. My room was very cleanly, the front desk staff was friendly and very helpful, and most importantly the parking lot was well-lit, which it hadn't been in the past. Robert was especially helpful and very professional. I was very impressed and look forward to continuing to stay here. « less

Informed at checkin that all king units were suffering with hot water issues, I opted for room with 2 fulls. Worked fine for this trip.

Informed at checkin that all king units were suffering with hot water issues, I opted for room with 2 fulls. Worked fine for this trip. Much more of a lobby than at most Quality Inns. Easy on/off to I35. Conveniently located. I would suggest a room on the Dallas Drive side of the property. The I35 side must be very noisy. Will definitely stay here when next my travels take me to Denton. « less

The location is difficult to reach if you are traveling from the south. There is room for a truck and trailer to park, but it is hard to access the parking lot. The clerk was extremely helpful. She even promised to save a room without a card when we called to inquire about parking. The lobby is impressive! The room itself was roomy and the king size bed was nice. The room had an overwhelming smoke odor that was hard to withstand. The bathroom also had the usual hairs that one hates to encounter. However, for $50, this was hard to beat. There were many breakfast choices and the clerk sent several faxes at no charge. For the price, this was a great value. « less

I have stayed at this hotel in the past and wasn't pleased. But I like to give places a second chance before I write them off. I know they have been in the process of remodeling this hotel in the past so i wondered if had improved. I felt like it was covered muck. Whatever mold and nicotine that was caked to the walls was painted over by the remodel. I was sick the first night from allergies most likely from the mold that was in the walls. Didn't sleep till 4 am. Like most AC units that you have the option of keeping the fan running, this AC unit didn't have that option. So the AC would come off and on adjusting itself all night making it difficult to get sound sleep. When the AC fan was off you can hear the traffic from I-35 which is very noisy. This is a older hotel and its one of the many in this area that needs to be retired. Or just hand it over the America's Best Value Inn. The stair well was unsafe, they were unstable and not even causing me to almost trip a couple of times. The room we stayed in was clean, as far as clean can be for a hotel. No urine on the seats or hair in the bath tub. Sheets were clean and I didn't see any bugs. Each room comes standard with a microwave and fridge. The microwave was clean the inside of the fridge was clean but the outside of the fridge was dirty. There was no noticeable mold, but if you are sensitive to black mold you can detect it right away and usually feel sick pretty quick. Upon arrival the lobby was clean and nice. It seems IT got the remodel, they invested money in the lobby. Check in counter reps were vey friendly and helpful, check out was easy and again the rep were kind and friendly. The kitchen dinning area seemed clean. I didnt like that the trash can was right near the buffet, Im almost confident there is a health code violation there. There needs to be two waffle makers if you are going to cater to groups. There was a line of people waiting to prepare waffels. « less

Staff was nice and room was OK for the price. But there was no hot water. Had to take a sort of spit bath. I was in room 104 and it was the night the 3.4 earthquake hit. But I don't think there was hot water in the room before the quake. « less
