History
The French Quarter itself is saturated with history, and there is no more historic spot than that on which the Inn is located. Originally built in the 1800's for the Baron Joseph Xavier de Pontalba, it has also served as lodging for the Governor, and was the official government house when Louisiana was still A French colony.
