Ok the hotel is a little bit dated with faded grandeur but we thoroughly our stay here. The reception staff were very welcoming and friendly . Our room was a bit dated but it was extremely clean and had everything we need for our 3 night stay. Breakfast was very good and set us up for the day . It took us a while to work out the tram system but once mastered , travel into the city and the old town was very easy and as we had a welcome card it included unlimited travel from the tram stop 2 minutes away There's not a lot to see around the hotel but maybe it was quiet there as we traveled over the Easter holidays « less

Located in-between the airport and the city centre this is a modern large Renaissance hotel. It primarily a business hotel with conference faculties that doubles in to a theatre venue. There is slight hint of 70’s glamour in the public areas; there is a huge slatted polished copper ceiling that covers part of the lobby area and into the restaurant area. Whilst I was there the restaurant was not open but the restaurant menu along with a bar menu was available in the bar, the food was good and the price not too bad. In the vicinity of the hotel there are other dining options. The bedroom was larger than normal and the Wi-Fi was signal was strong. There is no concierge lounge at this hotel but guests who normally qualify for entry have the in room mini bar use for free. Breakfast was excellent with a good selection of hot and cold options. Parking was underground and free for hotel patrons and as always the Renaissance staff were not only very professional but extremely pleasant and helpful. Not a great place for a base for a city break, there are other Marriott hotels closer to the city but excellent for the closeness of the airport.

The hotel is very well run with courteous staff. The rooms are clean and of a good size. Breakfast is self service with ample selection of hot and cold food to start your day. The Old Town with it's bars and restaurants is a short taxi journey away and worth visiting in the evenings as the hotel bar can be a little soulless. The International Airport is 4 km away making the hotel very conveniently located. « less

I used to be a regular visitor to the Renaissance, but this was my first visit in at least 5 years.
The hotel is a long way from the centre of Dusseldorf. We travelled by tram from Königsallee and it took about 20 minutes, and then a short walk.
As always, the welcome was friendly. The hotel is comfortable and clean, but nothing has been updated. It all feels very dated. Our room still had an old cathode ray TV and a radio controlled by knobs on the bedside table. The bed was big and comfortable, and there was tea and coffee in the room. There were some English-speaking TV stations (CNN, BBC World, Sky News), which is rare in German hotels.
Breakfast had both hot items (scrambled eggs, bacon, sausages) and the usual continental selection of cheese and cold meats, bread rolls, fruit, pastries and juice. It was well-stocked, and as we stayed there at Easter, we were also given a large bar of Milka in the shape of a bunny.
The hotel has a bar, and drinks are served with a nice mix of nuts and crackers.
There is nothing wrong with this hotel, and I am sure it was lovely when it opened, but it really could do with a refresh if it wants to compete with better-located upmarket hotels. The decoration is the only thing which lets the place down. Everything just feels a little bit 1980s... « less
