It's downtown Boston and you're paying less than $200...this is what you get if you want to be near the activity. I bought from Priceline. The room is tiny and the paint and moldings are 80 years old. Hallways are loud at night, and A/C is clunky, but it's convenient and (relatively) inexpensive. « less

Boston Park Plaza is not your hotel if you want free Wi-Fi, a new bathroom, and a Belgian waffle for breakfast. This is one of the Grand Dames of Boston, with an enormous, elaborate lobby, comfortable rooms, and bright corridors. The staff are friendly and do their jobs well. The building shows its age with grace. The location is hard to beat. There is wide range of restaurants, from Dunkin Donuts to fine dining in crawling distance. The Boston Commons is a block away. Quincy Market is a healthy walk. « less

Hotel rooms are very old and tiny. My first room was ridiculously small, there was no space to move around. Bath was tiny, it can't even be described. If I have time, I will upload the pictures I took with my phone. Room was also near the elevators and it is not possible to sleep due to noise. My room was changed after I complained, but it was 1 1/2 hour affair for managing to get another room. That's what we need for a relaxing night, right? New room was old and bad like the other one but at least I could move around in it. My hotel was prepaid, so I stayed with not much satisfaction.
There is also fire alarm fiasco one night; it kept going off all night. They kept saying fire department cleared so we can go back to rooms but then it goes off again.
I see Hotel Managers reply to all bad reviews but they should better spend their times to fix the problems. They don't need to reply to this one.
I don't recommend the hotel, I think their hotel rooms are overcharged. « less

I often stay in Boston, usually at the Sheraton or Westin which are also same class hotels in the area. The park plaza is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in this city. The rooms are ridiculously tiny, even after paying for an upgrade. They advertise the premium rooms at 300 sq feet, but it's more like 200 sq ft. There is not even enough room to put a dresser and a TV in front of the bed, no mini bar, no complementary anything. The rooms are all very old due to the historic building, meaning everything is worn, dirty, rotting in the bathroom and all over the apartment. The worst part is probably the noise isolation, because there doesn't seem to be any at all. I could hear the person in the next room write on his desk.
Really awful experience, I would highly recommend people avoid this. I have stayed in motels that are in better shape than this. « less
