This was the WORST hotel experience in hundreds of stays! The smell of cigarettes and sewer were horrible! We had booked 14 rooms, some of which they didn't have available on the first day, one room wasn't made and there were never enough towels. IF we got towels, many nights our beds weren't made because we had clothes on the bed (Never had that happen before). Soaps weren't replaced and trash wasn't removed in some rooms, I CAN GO ON AND ON! The only saving grace was the hospitality of the people in the restaurant. They had to refund money to me and comp some rooms just so I didn't switch hotels which I made calls to do but couldn't find any that could occupy our students. I can't express how dissatisfied we were and how angry I was coming to the hotel after a long day to a messy room. I will NEVER stay at a Ramada again and will be sure to tell of this experience to the highest authority in this hotel. I don't want anyone going through what we went through!

This hotel needs a few updates like plug ins near the night stands. They need a mini fridge in the rooms. It is an older hotel that needs to be updated to look like this century.

"The renovation is starting too late, are they gonna renovate the staff also?"

Wow, I can overlook the issues caused by the renovation, that happens. But the hotel was obviously neglected and details ignored for years before the renovation. Railings in the pool areas rusted completely through, the controls for the hot tub not attached, just supported by the conduit, spiders in the rooms. The staff has no attention to detail, an abandoned cart outside the back door, spiders in the rooms, a hot tub that is not hot, poor attitudes and customer service. Literally the only good staff interaction I had was with the group sales person and that was via email only, but at least she was helpful. With everything that went on in Columbus this was the last place that could do a group booking and now I know why. The physical plant will be better after the renovation but unless they retrain or replace the staff to be customer service focused it will be lipstick on a pig. When I asked about why the hot tub was not hot the maintenance guy replied we cleaned it yesterday, it will be hot in a few hours. I work with pools and hot tubs, that small a tub would have gotten hot overnight he just didn't care and threw out some BS answer to get away from me. Just a terrible experience all the way around.

Was told that 1/2 of hotel had been renovated and rest was in process. We were told our group would be in updated rooms; at best there was updated bedding, but the mattresses were old/terrible, wallpaper in bathroom was bubbled/peeling, asked for additional towels and never received. Hallways had plates sitting on floor for 1/2day, carpets didn't look like they had been vacuumed in weeks. Unable to regulate temperature in room, was so humid that toilet left pool of water on ground from sweating. Most hotels you see staff cleaning; none to be found. The only positive, the breakfast was good and the hotel shuttle was on time and got our group to/from an evening event. Would never stay and never recommend.
