This is my first stay at this hotel. Upon check-in, the agent, Karen, asked how my day had been. I told her that I had been driving for nearly 8 hours, and the GM, Cathy, offered me (after checking that my business was done for the day) several frosty beverages to help me relax. I also got a koozie! Karen and Cathy could not have been nicer. The room equalled the service provided at the front desk - everything is new, clean, and well decorated. Very comfortable. We spent two nights in room 211 during our daughter's wedding in Mineral Wells in March 2013. We rented two other rooms for our adult children. Several of our friends also stayed at the hotel for one night. Everyone enjoyed their stay. We had a spacious king size suite with a comfortable bed, refrigerator and microwave. Since we are priority club members, we were given a coupon for a free bottle of water and a little cup with snacks in it. The hotel provides free newspapers for all guests.
We did have a small inconvenience at check in. Our room keys did not work, so I had to go back to the desk. Then we we opened the room, it had two Queen beds and I had reserved a King. So I had to make yet another trip to the desk to get switched to our eventual King room. The person who checked us in was apologetic and quickly resolved the problem.
The Continental breakfast was standard fare. The common areas were well maintained and enjoyable, with comfy seating and a fireplace. Our large group had a nice time visiting in the breakfast area the morning after the wedding. There was a small pool out back that we did not try due to the weather and time of year.
The hotel is bordered by a highway in the front and another hotel in the rear. It is definitely not a scenic locale. « less
