MADISON’S RESTAURANT AND WINE GARDEN

I was blown away at the beauty of this resort and the friendliness of the staff. I was very impressed that we were greeted with a glass of champagne upon arrival, we were given a personal tour of the grounds including being walked to our room and shown all of its bells and whistles, our luggage was waiting for us in our room when we entered, and when we forgot a couple of items at home they promptly delivered them to our room. The bathroom in our room (#202) was absolutely fantastic. The jacuzzi tub was a dream. The Molton Brown bath products were a very nice touch! We cannot wait to come back to the Old Edwards Inn! « less

My husband & I enjoyed our 21st Anniversary at Old Edwards Inn. From the moment we walked in we knew we were at a first class Inn. The reviews about this place are true. You will spend a higher dollar at the Inn, however, they make sure that it is worth it. There are several options of restaurants within walking distance. We arrived back to our room after our Anniversary dinner to find bed turn-down with rose petals and champagne waiting for us. Nice touch! We spent two evenings enjoying the "lounge" area near the library in the main house listening to a pianist while having a drink. The staff was amazing! Very helpful and very polite. I only wish the weather was a little warmer so we could have enjoyed the pool. The only drawback was that I didn't realize that breakfast was not included. I was told that this would be included in purchasing a package. The view and grounds made up for any drawbacks though! I would stay here again! « less

Though the Ritz at Reynolds Plantation is also wonderful, I'd recommend the Old Edwards Inn over the Ritz of places within easy driving distance of Atlanta. The inn is lovely, the grounds are lovely, the location is lovely (it's on Main Street in Highlands with lots of restaurants and shops on both sides). And the spa and service are fantastic. The property has a very intimate feel, and one feels very welcome in every nook. We did a combination of using the spa, strolling about Main Street, using the fitness facilities, including yoga classes, and going on a hike. « less

Last year we stayed in our own individual cottages each with a screen porch overlooking lovely woods. The restaurant is beyond wonderful. We LOVE their food. And it's made extra special by our special spa package including all dinners in the price, along with a substantial spa credit. The spa is very lovely - having been to many all over the country, I rate it as high as any I have enjoyed. The spa "technicians" were excellent. Customer service overall is good. What an amazing place. First the setting at 4118 feet high in the SW corner of North Carolina mountain country makes for a scenic drive--slow enough to unwind and prepare for a relaxing visit. The staff is over-the-top friendly, helpful, attentive and gracious. The accommodations are luxurious though comfortable and the Inn itself is a delight of discovery as you meander from one end to the other. The spa, golf, restaurants and health club are all exceptional. And to add to this experience, the shops and the locals are interesting, welcoming and delightful. We will return again and explore the rest of the area soon. Loved It! « less
