The Knights Inn in Wapakoneta Ohio was a very odd place. It appears to have once been a complex of four or five buildings, but only one appears to be in use now. The other buildings are derelict and appear to be left for nature to reclaim.
The hotel is right off the highway and next to a truck stop, where the unfriendly locals appear to hang out in front of to stare at the newcomers. The city itself seems to have seen better days.
The exterior of the building is in relatively poor shape, though still better then the other derelict buildings on the property. It kind of reminds me of the motel from Breaking Bad where Wendy works out of in a way, but maybe a step up.
The hallways were dim and had that special cheap hotel smell. The room itself wasn't that bad. It was mostly clean, though the bathroom could have used updating. It was very quiet, though the hotel was mostly vacant when we stayed there.
Overall, not horrible, but a little on the scary side. « less

I booked this motel after my house was involved in a flood while I made necessary repairs, because of cost and internet wifi. 1st thing noticed was internet was not available to the rooms they have wifi but its not connected to anything, staff seemed unable to understand simple English and was unwilling to fix this. 2nd house keeping never showed up to empty trash or change linen and bring clean towels « less

Had two nice rooms here with our family members while visiting St Mary's Blues Festival. Staff friendly. Grounds very neat. Rooms (2) very clean. Quiet place. Walking distance to good T/A truck stop restaurant (also no noise problem). This motel is convenient to interstate exit for area. Deserves very good ratings and very good value. I would not complain to pay a little more for this motel and would recommend it. My extended family members also had similar comments made to me on departure. « less

I and my family stayed at Knights Inn in Wapakoneta on 08/14/10. We are very happy with our stay at this motel due to good customer service and clean room. Front desk employee greated us warmly and showed us the room. Next day we needed two extra towels and an employee brought us within 5 minutes. The room was clean and well kept. We would definitely stay again. « less
