This historic ranch, founded in 1868, is located on 640 spectacular acres in the lush desert foothills of the Rincon Mountains, adjacent to the Saguaro National Park and Coronado National Forest. Miles of scenic horseback riding and hiking trails offer ranch guests the opportunity to explore the rugged and unique Sonoran desert of the Old West. While secluded and surrounded by the natural desert, the ranch is just minutes from all that Tucson has to offer in the way of shopping and sightseeing. The 74 authentically decorated rooms are fully air-conditioned and offer beautiful desert and mountain views. Most rooms are spacious and have adobe fireplaces and outside private patios. Larger suites and smaller, cozier rooms are also available. The rooms are scattered over a lovely hillside, capitalizing on the spectacular views, and offering plenty of peace and quiet at the end of a busy day. Tanque Verde Ranch operates on the full American plan. The rate includes three delicious meals a day as well as all of the scheduled ranch activities! These include horseback riding & lessons, tennis, mountain biking, guided hiking, nature walks & other nature programs and a variety of informative and entertaining evening programs. Resort quality facilities in the beautiful setting of an historic ranch make Tanque Verde Ranch a unique and special experience not to be missed! With spectacular meeting and banquet facilities that can accommodate up to 150 people, this is the perfect venue for a memorable corporate meeting or retreat, wedding or special occasion celebration. There are 5 tennis courts, one of which is lighted at night, and a staff tennis pro to help you with your game! The facilities include indoor and outdoor pools, a separate children's wading pool, and an exercise room. Large indoor & outdoor whirlpool spas and men's and ladies saunas provide the perfect way to relax after a long day in the saddle. Basketball, volleyball, and fishing are also available, and the ranch provides all the equipment. Our fully supervised children's program provides a special Ranch experience for kids ages 4 through 11. For an additional fee, soothing massages, body treatments, manicures & pedicures are available at our La Sonora Spa and championship golf is nearby. Tanque Verde Ranch has Arizona's largest stable, with over 140 well-trained ranch horses. Riding is offered every day of the week, both walking rides for beginners and loping rides for more experienced riders. All day rides, picnic rides, and breakfast rides add variety and adventure to the regular riding schedule. Beginning and advanced riding lessons & horsemanship classes are offered daily as well and, as with all riding, are included in the rate!
