My husband and I were going to be in the Lancaster area for just one night, so we were looking for something clean and budget friendly. After looking at prices and reading reviews, we decided on the Dutch Treat Motel. It's exactly what you'd expect for an older family-owned motel. It was clearn but nothing fancy. There are extra perks for staying here, including the ability to get discounted ($5 off) Sight and Sound tickets, which was the reason we were coming to Lancaster and to stay over night, to see Noah, as well as $5 off per person for the breakfast buffet across the street at the Hershey Farms restraunt. Another perk of staying here, is Ed's Buggie Rides, which is adjacent to the property (the horses were literally behind our room, which we could hear stirring in the morning as they were getting fed, a nice authentic touch to staying in the country!) So staying here, we saved $20 for two additional things we were going to do anyhow - the show and breakfast. That made the room really only about $30 considering those additional discounts. Great location and value and we'd stay here again. « less

I've stayed there for at least 30 years. In that time, three parties have owned the motel, The first family built the motel and operated it for many years before the husband got sick they decided to sell it. The second family ran it into the ground, the man sat in his butt and figured it would run it self when he decided to go back to India. He solded it to the third family. They have worked hard aand are bringing it back . It's clean, rate are good, I have no problem staying there at any time of the year. It's quiet, good location to all thing to see. « less

We have stayed there a few times, and look forward to going back again. It is a family owned motel, which makes it even better. Sure, it is not a fancy modern hotel, but it is nice. They offer discounts on local attractions, such as Sight and Sound, etc. In the summer, take advantage of the crystal clear pool. The location is PERFECT, (right across from Sight and Sound) There was coffee in the morning it the "coffee/ice" room. We will continue to stay there on our visits to Amish Country Mary & Ron Spaide Plainville, MA « less

I must write to refute some of the negative reviews about this motel. I have been staying in motels in the area for over forty-five years. You name it, I've probably stayed there! Since I found this motel, I will stay at no other. In fact, I have been here seven times in the last two years! It's only a five to six hour drive from Massachusetts. You will not find a cozier, cleaner, and friendlier place to stay. Everytime I have stayed here, the management have gone out of their way to ask me if things are ok and if there is anything that they can do for me. The rooms are always clean and they smell clean too. There is never the smell of "dirty feet" or strong cover-up sprays as in other motels. I was there last week and the Internet Wi-Fi worked fine. The television must get at least fifty channels, the AC always works great, and the mattresses and box springs are all new in the past year or two! So there isn't a clock in the room, big deal, look at your watch. I have always had plenty of hot water, and lots of ice. If you need extra towels ask for them! For those who forget where they are, this is Lancaster County, Pa. There are flies everywhere down here, get used to them. The motel does provide a fly swatter, did you see it in the drawer? How do you think Shoo-Fly pie which is famous down here got it's name? The continental breakfast isn't any worse than I have had anywhere else, even at the Marriott. Yea it's a small little room, but this is a small motel. The location can't be beat, smack in the middle of Amish Counrty next to a quiet side road with lots of Amish farms. This is the best that I have been to in many years. « less

I have stayed here twice on business for extended stays. The rooms are clean and comfortable and especially quiet. The owner will just about bend over backwards to help you. The internet works great and is free. I don't understand the bad reviews I have read on this site. I don't think people understand that it's an older hotel and the rooms aren't going to be like the Hilton Gardens. My carpet and bathroom have always been clean. I enjoyed my stay. « less

Testimonials: Why use Hotel Planner?
"Thanks Kevin! Your site was a huge success for me and I will definitely use it again. We ended up booking a total of 44 rooms, with different checking-in check-out days, times, people, etc., and Steve has been awesome to work with. Also, Steve is making special arrangements for an "after hours" tradition.I need to make group reservations at least twice a year and I now have a website that makes that a whole lot easier!" "I will definitely use you in the future. You saved me on this one as space was really tight that week in DC." K.T. - New York City, NY
