We were a group of three friends in three rooms on different floors, and we have four days and three nights at the Schloss nights. At the reception one clerk so we had to wait twenty minutes to check, however, you can not stand in front of the hotel even for a few minutes because it does not have a space reserved. The staff on duty in the morning but that is kind of far less afternoon and management should deal with it. Breakfast is within limits. Good cleaning. In the rooms the floor is made of laminated flooring and a high-traffic is very deteriorated that the whole an appearance of neglect and decay. Be careful not to assign rooms that overlook the covered inner courtyard that serves as the lobby because there is no possibility of change of air and being transparent coverage of the court seems to be in a greenhouse. In the rooms there are old cathode ray tube televisions that were side by side with the same number decoder requirement to use two remotes. The only good thing is the location close to the Grand Place. « less

When selecting a hotel to stay in Brussels, we looked for walking distance location. We overlooked the aesthetics for the sake of convenience. We found it in the Grand Exe Place Hotel, right in the heart of the city. We walked everywhere and the staff were extremely helpful and knowledgeable. We even needed to reserve a hotel in Bastogne for the following evening and one of the young men at the front desk found one for us. Their directions, restaurant recommendations and their overall friendly assistance made our stay a pleasant one. The buffet breakfast was varied, and service was very nice. The rooms were spotless and comfortable. Our rates were very good and we left with the feeling we had received great service. The location of this four-star hotel sold us and if we visit Brussels again, we would reserve there without hesitation. « less

I stayed in the hotel one night only and have seldom had experience as bad as that. Mostly due to the great overpricing of the room. There was a big conference in Brussels at the time so they have charged me 551 euros for a room WITHOUT breakfast. The wallpapers in the rather narrow corridors were peeling off, the room was dated, with chipped laminated flooring with cracks between boards. And to add insult to injury, the only thing in the way of toilletries in the bathroom was a soap. I would expect quite a bit more from a 4-star hotel. Disappointing! « less

This hotel is great if you want to be right in the centre of things, it's only about 100m from Anneessens metro station which is two stops from the Gare du Midi for Eurostar from London, and a really short walk to the Grand Place, Bourse, restaurants, bars and shops around there, all the chocolate shops, comic book shops and nightlife. There is a reasonably sized "Delhaize" supermarket not too far away on the same side of the road towards "Bourse". Great for all those Cote d'or Chocolate bars!!! Minus points - little bit noisy at night as there is a nightbus stop right outside the hotel, but not too offputting and it's true, the rooms are a bit overheated, I think this is because there is underfloor heating. We just opened the windows and things were fine. Breakfast is a standard buffet affair, not setting the world alight but quite nice all the same. I have stayed twice at this hotel and it's been solidly good both times. « less
