Property Description
The estate dates back to 1790 and was originally a farmhouse. As you enter the front door and foyer, you are immediately aware of the English country décor accented by warm colors and elegant, but comfortable furnishings. To your left you'll see our comfortably stylish Red Room is decorated with mahogany leather furnishings with several cozy sitting areas for reading, listening to music or just relaxing in front of the fireplace. To your right you'll note the more formal club room decorated in dark green, royal blue and a just hint of gold. Straight ahead and to the right lies the library and Main Dining rooms with fireplaces, a 100 year old grand piano and French doors opening out onto the beautiful salt mineral pool, spa, and expansive patio. Although all our rooms offer data ports, the upstairs foyer offers a study complete with telephone and computer for checking your e-mail or simply searching the internet. The main house has beautifully decorated guest rooms as well as our renovated carriage house and guest house and the eight additional guests rooms. Outside, the estate's picturesque grounds and gardens, all surrounded by 150 year old vine-covered stone walls, await your leisurely stroll. A walk through our gardens brings you to the carriage house and guest house situated 25 yards from the main house.The Lambert's Cove Inn & Restaurant is known as one of the most romantic retreats on Martha's Vineyard. Situated on 7 acres of spacious lawns, gardens, forest and meadowlands in the pastoral town of West Tisbury, it offers tranquility and seclusion. As you follow the winding road, shaded by towering trees, that leads to the inn, you'll know when you arrive, that you have indeed found a very special place.Lambert's Cove Inn has fifteen guest rooms located in three buildings. The main house has seven guest rooms as well as our 70 seat restaurant. The Carriage House and Guest House each have four guest rooms and are located approximately 75 yards from the main building. All of our air conditioned guest rooms boast private baths luxurious bath robes, 500 Thread Count Egyptian cotton linens, feather beds, down comforters & pillows, telephones, high speed internet access, iron with ironing board, hair dryer, the Thyme's line of Eucalyptus scented amenities, and TV with DVD/CD player with access to over 100 of the latest blockbuster movies. We also include a pass to the private Lambert's Cove beach as well as a full made to order breakfast, all at no additional charge.The Lambert's Cove Inn & Restaurant offers one of the best dining experiences on the island. Enjoy the ambiance of our elegant dining room with it's hardwood floors and beautiful fireplaces. Our dinner menu rotates, featuring fresh island seafood, veal, beef, poultry, in-season vegetables from local gardens and farms, homemade soups, breads and delicious desserts. Below is a sampling of our fare.
