Best Western Blue Tower- good location, only a short bus/tram to the main parts of Amsterdam. Location could have been better but with much higher costs, two night stay here was very good value for money- with a 15 minute journey to Dam square from a stop right round the corner from the hotel. Not too far from the airport- again pretty quick via public transport or a 40euro taxi. Room was nice and clean- comfy beds, kind of what would be expected from a best western. Bathroom was lovely- really big. We had bed and breakfast and it was great- usual buffet with pastries etc. On the Friday it wasn't too busy, but on the Saturday it was packed, and the queue for the coffee machine was huge. But that is somewhat expected from a large hotel on the weekend- could do with two (functioning) coffee machines. Overall- great value, good, clean hotel, suited us perfectly for a nice long weekend away. « less

Since it was our first trip to Holland we didn't really know if location is fine or not, but it was ok. Bus station is just a minutes away and taxi can get you downtown very fast. We got ourselves a room on 10th floor which was fine, I have to say, rooms are very clean, staff is nice, and breakfast should be a little better, but since we got really good price, we could not complain. I have to say, I would stay there again, and all chances are that I will :) « less

My sister and myself treated my parents to Amsterdam to celebrate my mum's 70th Birthday as we wanted to take them to see the Keukenhof Gardens. After spending a lot of time on the internet I finally chose to stay at Blue Western Blue Tower. When we arrived at the hotel we were told that we have been transferred to another hotel because they are OVERBOOKED. I was very disappointed because I had booked and paid in full in January whilst other guests were paying the balance. They did not even have the courtesy to let us know beforehand as they did have my email address as I had contacted them when I did the booking. After a lot of noise they transferred us to a 5 star hotel. To avoid disappointment please do not book at this hotel. « less

Dear Anupa Shah and Party
I am very sorry to hear about the experience you have had in our hotel. This is not the impression we would like to leave behind.
We would like to explain what happened, so you can get an idea that we handle in all care of our guests.
On the date of you arrival we discovered a mistake in the system. Rooms where booked by our website, but they where not transferred to our system. That’s how we got overbooked. We had to book out 2 rooms to another hotel. This is an absolute disaster for us, we do not like to send any guests to another hotel. We hope every booking party, books because they want to stay with us!
We made reservation in the BEST WESTERN Blue Square hotel and the Golden Tulip Amsterdam West.
So that our guests have different options. These where the last 2 option in Amsterdam, because of Queensday everything was fully booked.
Unfortunately there where only 2 rooms per hotel. Because we had only parties arriving with 4 to 6 rooms you where our only party of 2 rooms we where able to book out. We hope you understand that we did not want to split up a group and that we where not able to inform you upfront.
I understood from my colleague Annie who informed you about the bad news, that she handled you with care. And immediately that you informed here that you did not like the BEST WESTERN Blue Square Hotel, that she made you the offer to the Golden Tulip Amsterdam West.
A very beautiful brand new hotel, just opened the 11th of April, with very high standards, a luxury live cooking restaurant, more expensive rates and more facilities, a real good upgrade.
Annie told me you had some doubts, but after seeing the website and receiving a very good review from one of our other guests, you would like to go there. So we arranged transport for you and made sure everything was taking care off.
After you check-in at the Golden Tulip Amsterdam West, we checked with the hotel if everything was ok. We also do aftercare towards our guests.
We requested the hotel to inform us if there where any problems.
They informed us the next day, that everything was ok and you where enjoying yourselves.
We hope you had a very good time in Golden Tulip Amsterdam West, and hop to see you next time.
Met vriendelijke groet / With kind regards,
BEST WESTERN Blue Tower Hotel****
