BY PLANE:Lamezia Terme Airport - 55 km distance – travel to Catanzaro direction on SS 280 and then take the exit Germaneto / Catanzaro Lido / Soverato and run along the Ionian SS 106 direction Reggio Calabria up to the exit of Montepaone Lido.

Local Shuttle Info: A very important archaeological site. You can find there the ruins of the sanctuary of Hera Lacinia, which had been built between the VI and the V centuries b.C.. Its importance depends on the fact that it had been a national sanctuary for the Italic populations of Eastern and Southern Calabria. Originally, it counted an imposing circle of buildings, of which nowadays one can admire only the basements and a Doric column of the temple. At Le Castella, characteristic seafaring village, there is an Aragonese castle built on a small island facing the village.
